SUBJECTS OF STUDY
The CzechGlobe fundamental subjects of study is the following triad: the atmosphere - ecosystems - socio-economic systems.
The CzechGlobe infrastructure, that is being built, is spatially distributed throughout the whole Czech Republic territory.
The research infrastructure is going to enable us, among others, to monitor the long-range transport of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, the exchange of CO2 between the atmosphere and ecosystems, to investigate geological and hydrological cycles, to produce regional climate change scenarios, to simulate the changing environment and to examine the impact of the changing environment on plants - from the cell level to the level of remote sensing (aerial and satellite sensing).
One of the parts of CzechGlobe is also the Innovative platform, which will enable us to transform research findings into new technologies and products, particularly in the development of the 3rd generation biofuels, which may be an interesting source of energy during the transition from fossil fuels to alternative energy sources.
