Final workshop of BASE project in Brussels

The workshop “Implementing the EU Adaptation Strategy : Practical insights and policy recommendations” took place in Les Ateliers des Tanneurs in Brussels on June 9, 2016. The event was organized within the 7th Framework Programme project BASE – Bottom up Adaptation Strategies for a Sustainable Europe, where CzechGlobe is a project partner.

The seminar was attended by an audience including the representatives of a broad range of institutions dealing with climate change adaptation. Specifically, the representatives of European Commission Departments (DG Environment, DG Climate Action, DG Research and Innovation), consultation and non-governmental agencies, as well as multiple municipalities and areas applying adaptation measures were present.

The seminar aimed to present research outcomes and consults the policy observations resulting from the BASE project, related to the current process of reviewing the EU Adaptation Strategy. Furthermore, the results of individual BASE-project case studies were presented and discusses, focusing on the effectivity and economic efficiency of adaptation measures in diverse urban, agricultural and other areas.
