3 May 1943 – 1 February 2026
With deep sorrow, we announce that on 1 February 2026, Sune Linder, Emeritus Professor at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Uppsala and at the Southern Swedish Forest Research Centre in Alnarp (Sweden), passed away.
Professor Linder was an outstanding scientific figure and, for more than 30 years, a close collaborator and friend of CzechGlobe. Over the past 15 years, he served as a member of the Scientific Advisory and Ethics Board of CzechGlobe, which he chaired until 2023.
Professor Sune Linder devoted his career to research on the relationships between mineral nutrition and the ecophysiology of the photosynthetic process. He played a key role in establishing the Flakalinden field research site as a centre of excellence. Professor Linder was deeply engaged in international cooperation, and his contributions and activities in shaping the work of CzechGlobe were invaluable. His support of Professor Marek, Director of CzechGlobe, particularly in the area of science management, was also irreplaceable.
Let us honour his memory with a moment of silent remembrance.
