Global Change Research Institute CAS – CzechGlobe was one of the first institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences to obtain two ISO Certificates in the areas of quality management ISO 9001:2015 (according to CSN ISO 9001:2016) and environmental management ISO 14001:2015 (according to CSN ISO 14001:2016). The certificates were issued by the independent certification body CERTLINE.
Within the audit at CzechGlobe, the independent certification body highlighted, among other things, the close link with the public sector; matrix structure; a strong emphasis on maintaining high standards; the ability to communicate project results to a wide range of professionals and the general public through efficient forms, such as web applications, publications, workshops and seminars; a wide and structured network of measuring stations; modern monitoring equipment; cooperation with professional entities at home and abroad; interdisciplinary research and the pursuit of comprehensible methodologies with full use in practice; an efficient project management system and, last but not least, a high level of expertise of the staff.
International certification is especially important for the transfer of CzechGlobe research results into practice, for participation in tenders announced by UN agencies or to substantiate professionalism to CzechGlobe partners. ISO certification is also an indicator for the users of the CzechGlobe research infrastructure within the so-called Open Access cooperation.
