Research Focus

I am interested in the biogeochemistry of forested ecosystems. Particularly in historical and current anthropogenic effects (soil acidification, nitrogen deposition, forest management, climate change) on forest functioning. My research combines analysis of long-term data (GEOMON network of 14 forested catchments with >25 years of hydrochemical monitoring), field experiments and the development and application of process-based models.
