Annotation of project:
The aim is: to contribute to the solution of the currently most serious global environmental problem – the Global Climate Change (GCC). to create Czech national intersection of pan-european research infrastructure (ESFRI) ICOS – Integrated Carbon Observation System – infrastructure ensuring the assessment and quantification of greenhouse gas fluxes into the ecosystems at the European level to create a complementary to ESFRI project EUFAR – European Facility for Airborne Research – undertaking the airborne remote sensing useful for the study of GCC to finalize construction and operate the spatially distributed research infrastructure covering the Czech Republic (CR), which will include i) net of ecosystem stations equipped for the assessment and quantification of matter and energy fluxesbetween the selected types of ecosystems in CR and the atmosphere ii) cultivation lamel domes – unique structures for the long-term CO2 fumigation of the model forest and iii) laboratory of the process imaging for the realization of image scanning and processing of airborne and satellite images to provide a background for i) realization of the observational research and quantification of greenhouse gas fluxes and carbon deponia at the level of separate ecosystems in CR and their dynamics in time and space as a response to the influence of GCC, ii) realization of the long-term impact studies of the effect of increased CO2 concentration on the production and stability of forests and iii) operation of flight laboratory of process imaging and processing of airborne and satellite images at the application of new methods of process imaging usable for the identification of carbon deponia and their temporal dynamics to contribute to the concentration of knowledge potential of a given topic, what will lead to its utilization in strategic decisions and support of technologies targeted on the mitigation of GCC impacts or adaptation.

Annotation of project:
The overall objective of the proposal is the development of magnetically modified biogenic iron oxides with the aim to prepare, study and apply smart magnetic composite materials which can be influenced (manipulated) by external magnetic field. The following main areas will be studied: Preparation of appropriate magnetic nanoparticles (magnetic fluids) suitable for subsequent magnetic modification of biogenic iron oxides Study of preparation of magnetically modified biogenic iron oxides Detailed magnetic and microscopy characterization of prepared magnetic composite materials Immobilization of target biologically active compounds and affinity ligands on the prepared composite materials and their further applications Experimental evaluation of magnetic separation and preconcentration of xenobiotics using the developed magnetic composites

The aim of the proposed project is ACTIVE support of the involvement of regional R&D centers in projects of international scientific research cooperation and creation of conditions leading to improvement of the integration of regional R&D centers in the ERA. Annotation of project:
The goals of the project are (1) to describe changes in metabolite profile of barley plants (Hordeum vulgare) and dynamics of their physiological (photosynthesis) and morphological (growth) responses during the acclimation to various intensities of ultraviolet radiation (UV-A and UV-B) in combination with photosynthetically active radiation, (2) to analyse main limitation processes of photosynthesis, and (3) to study the functional connection between changes in plants metabolite profile and their physiological and morphological responses. We will focus on metabolites that have protective functions in photosynthesis, significantly influence plants development or they have important nutrition potential.
